Nanette Malher is an FAA-certified private pilot and the owner
of Aviatrix Enterprises and Aviatrix Music. She grew up in Braidwood, Illinois
and is a graduate of Roosevelt University in Chicago, where she received a Bachelor
of Arts degree with Departmental Honors in Journalism. She also holds a degree in music.
Her years of experience in journalism, sound design and graphics give
Aviatrix clients the opportunity to incorporate unique ideas and functionality within their web sites.
Nanette logged her first 34 hours of flight time with famous
CFI Wally Funk.
Wally has over 16,800 hours in the air and was ranked 3rd among the 13 qualifying women candidates chosen for the "Women in Space"
astronaut testing program in 1961. (Read more about Wally and the other incredible women of the program in the new book,
"Mercury 13.")
Nanette admires the era of the 1920's and 1930's
when the world was discovering so many new frontiers and women were beginning to emerge
as leaders in their fields . . . women such as
Bobbi Trout,
Amelia Earhart,
Margaret Bourke-White,
Lillian Hellman and Katharine Hepburn.
